10 ft 360 Degree Tilt Aluminum Square Patio Offset Cantilever Umbrella without Weight Base-Tan
A table umbrella can only shade a table. This tan cantilever stands on its own cross base and hangs a 10 foot square canopy out from a powder-coated aluminum pole, so it can cover loungers, a sofa or a barbecue instead. Seven tilt positions, a foot pedal for full rotation, eight steel ribs and 7.5 feet of clearance at the edge.
The loungers never get shade
A market umbrella needs a table
A standard umbrella stands in the hole in your dining table. The loungers by the pool and the sofa in the corner have nowhere to hold one, so they stay in full sun.
It brings its own base
This one stands on a cross base of its own and the arm carries the canopy over whatever is underneath. Park it behind the loungers and step on the pedal to swing the shade where it is needed.

Standing on its own
Nothing in this picture needs a table. The aluminum pole rises from its own cross base and the arm carries the tan canopy out to one side. That is what lets it shade loungers, sofas or a barbecue.
Two loungers, one canopy
Here the square canopy covers two loungers with the post set back on the deck. The edge is 7.5 feet up, so you can sit up without the fabric in your face. The shade is 10 feet by 10 feet.

The parts that hold it together
Five callouts: the offset joint at the top of the pole, the vent at the crown, the screws that fix the canopy, eight steel ribs, and the cross base. The screws are the detail most cheaper umbrellas skip.
Moving the shade across the deck
Press the pedal, turn the pole, and the canopy swings from the loungers to the table. The base and its weights stay put. It turns through a full circle.

What you get
Aluminum pole, steel ribs
A thick powder-coated aluminum pole carries eight steel ribs, so the frame resists rust and the canopy keeps its shape.
360 degrees on a pedal
Step on the pedal at the base and turn the pole. The canopy swings right round while the base stays put.
Seven tilt positions
The arm steps down the post through seven vertical positions, so the canopy can drop into low sun.
Crank lift
The same handle that sets the tilt winds the canopy open and shut, at chest height.
240 gsm yarn-dyed fabric
The colour is in the yarn rather than printed on, which is why the manufacturer calls it fade resistant.
Screwed-on canopy
The fabric is fixed to the frame with screws, so it cannot creep off the rib tips in a gust.
Vented top
A vent at the crown lets air escape upward instead of pushing on the whole canopy.
Cross base in the box
The cross base ships with it. The weights that sit on it are a separate purchase.

Who is this perfect for?
Rectangular dining sets
Square corners reach the end chairs that a round canopy of the same width leaves in the sun, and nothing rises through the middle of the table top.
Pool decks
It stands on its own cross base, so the shade can go over loungers where no table exists to hold a pole. Keep the post back from the water and on level ground.
West facing patios
Seven tilt steps plus a full circle of rotation are what you need when the worst sun of the day arrives at six, low and straight into your eyes.

Frequently asked questions
Can it stand on its own without a table?
Yes. It stands on the cross base that comes with it, plus the weights you add. That is what lets it cover loungers or a sofa group, where a market umbrella has nothing to stand in.
How much area does it shade, and what is the clearance?
The canopy is a 10 foot square, a hundred square feet, enough for two loungers or a six to eight seat table. The edge sits 7.5 feet off the ground and the pole 9 feet.
Does it come with a weighted base?
No. The cross base is included and the weights that sit on it are not. No base weight is published for this model, so we are not going to invent one. A cantilever hangs its whole canopy off one side of the post, so load it more heavily than you would a centre-pole umbrella of the same width and close it when the wind picks up.
How should it be stored over winter?
Crank it closed, wrap the hook and loop strap round the canopy, let the fabric dry right through and store it dry. Canadian care guides agree the two things that finish an umbrella early are snow load on an open canopy and fabric folded away damp.
