Two pieces, two different shapes

Four jobs for one footstool

The maker's own panel shows the ottoman as a footrest, as a spare seat, as a low table with the cushion lifted off, and open as a 15 gal box. It measures 44 in by 24 in by 12 in, so it is long enough for two pairs of feet rather than one.

Sitting up, leaning back, lying flat

A ratchet behind the back drops it through four set positions. The drawing puts the top one at 35 in and the lowest at 14 in, the same height as the seat, which is why the flat setting reads as a bed rather than a slouch.

How it sits outdoors

Metal legs with adjustable foot pads let it stand level on slabs or grass. The frame is PE rattan over metal, and the maker describes the weave as sunproof and anti-fading. Seat cushions are 2 in of sponge under a zipped cover.

Does the ottoman clip onto the loveseat?

No. Nothing in the record lists a clip, bracket or strap between the two pieces, so the ottoman is a loose piece that you push into place. Toggles hold the ottoman's own cushion down, which is a different job. If you want the two pieces held together on a windy deck, aftermarket furniture clips are sold separately by other brands.

How flat does the backrest really go?

Flat. The lowest of the four positions is marked 14 in on the drawing, which is the same as the seat height, so the back finishes level with the seat cushion rather than at a slight angle.

What actually fits in 15 gallons?

Roughly the volume of a large kitchen bin. In practice that is throw pillows, spare covers, a folded blanket and small garden tools. It is not big enough for the full set of seat and back cushions at once.

Can it stay out over a Canadian winter?

The rattan and metal frame are built for outdoors, but cushions last much longer indoors. Storage guides say to dry them fully first, then keep them off a concrete floor in a cool, ventilated spot, because trapped damp is what starts mould.
