These chairs carry solid acacia caps along the top of each scrolled metal arm. Wood does not swing the way metal does, so the one part of the chair you actually touch stays comfortable through the whole season.

The tabletop

Sixty nine inches by 32 in, which the maker's own panel says accommodates up to six people. The 2 in umbrella hole sits in the middle and closes with a lid. An umbrella and base are separate purchases.

Are the armrests solid wood?

The tops of the arms are acacia. The structure underneath is the same metal frame that carries the rest of the chair, with the wood capping the part you actually rest an arm on.

Will the set seat six?

The manufacturer's own tabletop panel says the 69 in by 32 in top accommodates up to six people, and four armchairs are supplied. Adding two more later is possible without changing the table.

How much lap room is there?

The seats sit 16 in from the ground and the tabletop is 30 in, leaving 14 in between them. Furniture height guides call 10 in to 12 in comfortable for dining, so this pairing is generous, which suits chairs with arms.
