Seven feet and nearly five across

7 ft of height on a 4.9 ft spread and a 20 inch stand. The floor is the constraint here, not the ceiling. Measure a five and a half foot circle, and allow about a foot of clear air above the tip.

1102 tips in open tiers

The branches are arranged in visible layers with gaps between them rather than filling a solid cone. PE leaves sit on the outside where they are seen and PVC fills the interior. The PVC is described as non deformable, which matters across seasons of packing.

350 bulbs and eight named modes

All eight modes are named rather than left vague: combination, in wave, sequential, slo glo, chasing flash, slow fade, twinkle flash and steady on. The controller is a small green box on the cord, so there is no remote to find each December.

How the layers read when lit

Once the lights are on, the gaps between the tiers become shadow, which is what gives a tree depth at night. A solid cone lights as a surface. This one lights as a series of layers.

Layered in tiers, in realistic PE and non deformable PVC.

Run from an adaptor the manufacturer states is UL approved.

From combination and in wave through to steady on.

A small inline box rather than a remote to keep track of.

Closer to the proportions of a real spruce.

Expand automatically as each section is raised.

Detachable, with a folding metal stand.

Under the stand, to keep the floor unmarked.

Found it cheaper at a Canadian retailer? Send us the link and we will match that price. It has to be the same item, in stock, sold and shipped inside Canada, and compared like for like on what comes in the box.

Open tiers give things room to hang inside the tree.

4.9 ft across needs the floor cleared for it.

Stacked branches rather than a filled in cone.

• 14 day returns, unused and in the original packaging.

Why is it so wide for seven feet?

The branches are layered in tiers rather than packed into a cone, which spreads them further out. It is closer to how a real spruce grows and it leaves space for ornaments to hang.

What are the eight lighting modes?

Combination, in wave, sequential, slo glo, chasing flash, slow fade, twinkle flash and steady on, selected from the controller on the cord.

How is it different from the 6 ft size?

The 6 ft has 830 tips, 260 lights and a 4.6 ft spread on an 18 inch stand. This listing is the 7 ft at 1102 tips, 350 lights and 4.9 ft.

What ceiling height does it need?

Guides ask for about a foot of clear air above the tip, so an eight foot room once the stand lifts it and a topper is added.
