The top is printed with a scanning area and a conveyor belt, with a card screen and a till on it. Children scan, ring up and hand back change, which is a lot of counting dressed up as a game.
The vending machine actually delivers
Load the snacks in the top, press the panel, then open the flap at the bottom and take the item out. The manufacturer made the whole loop work, so it is a shop within the shop.
