Open Back 6 Cube Bookshelf, Black
A low, wide bookcase with six open cubes and no back panel, so light and sightlines carry straight through.
A tall bookcase can close a room in
Solid backs block the light
Put a full height unit with a solid back against a window wall and the room feels smaller and darker than it did.
Low, wide and open through
This one stops at 31.5 inches and has no back panel, so it can sit under a window or behind a sofa without cutting the room in half.
The frame is a black finished board carried on four slim black metal legs. It measures 47 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 31.5 inches high, which is roughly desk height, and the six cubes are set three across and two deep.
Six cubes, three across
Each cube is 15 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 12 inches high. That takes a row of paperbacks, a pair of lever arch files or a fabric storage bin, and you can mix all three along the run.
No back panel at all
The open back lets a lamp cord or a router cable run straight through, and keeps a window wall bright. Used as a room divider, it still reads as open from both sides.
The top is a surface too
A flat 47 inch run across the top holds frames, a record player or a pair of lamps. Behind a sofa it becomes a console, and in a study it gives the printer a home.
What you get
Six open cubes
Three across and two high, each one 15 by 14 by 12 inches.
Desk height
31.5 inches tall, so it lines up with a desk or a sofa back.
Open back
No rear panel, so cables pass through and light is not blocked.
Metal legs
Four slim black legs lift the frame clear of the floor.
Painted surface
The smooth painted finish wipes down with a damp cloth.
Flat black finish
Plain enough to sit with wood, metal or painted furniture.
