Raised Garden Bed with Diamond Trellis
A single 16 inch box carrying a four foot lattice, with a water reserve underneath the soil and panels that link to the next one.
Screening a patio usually means building a fence
Posts, concrete, permission
A proper screen means digging posts, which rules it out for a rented patio, a balcony or anywhere with paving you cannot break.
Stand it in a planter instead
Each unit is a lattice panel in a loaded 16 inch box. Buy more and the sliding panel connection links them into a run as long as you need.
The trellis is moulded in a diamond lattice with openings around 5 inches by 2 inches, in a dark brown rattan texture. Under the soil sits a self watering disk with 16 watering holes over a water storage plate, and a drainage plug in the side.

A small footprint
The base is 16 inches square and the whole thing stands 48 inches tall. Inside, the planting area is 14 inches square with 7 inches of soil depth.
A reserve below the roots
Water passes through the disk into a store beneath. Roots draw on it between waterings, and the plug in the side lets you empty it after heavy rain.

Build it as long as you want
A sliding connection on the side of each box joins one unit to the next. Four or five in a row become a flowering wall rather than a single panel.

Common questions
How tall is it?
48 inches from the ground to the top of the lattice, standing on a 16 inch square base.
How much soil does it hold?
The inner box is 14 inches square with 7 inches of depth, over the water storage plate.
Can I join two together?
Yes. The sliding panel connection links one unit to the next to extend the screen.
Does it need watering daily?
The water store under the soil gives the roots a reserve to draw on, which stretches the gap between waterings.
