10 Feet 360° Tilt Aluminum Square Patio Umbrella without Weight Base-Gray
The edge of this grey canopy sits 7.5 feet off the ground, which is more headroom than most umbrellas give you. The canopy is a 10 foot square of 240 gsm yarn-dyed fabric on eight steel ribs, carried on a powder-coated aluminum pole. It tilts through seven positions and turns a full circle on a foot pedal. The cross base is included.
Ducking under your own umbrella
A low canopy edge catches heads
Many patio umbrellas hang their edge at around head height. People stoop to get to their chair, and taller guests catch the rim on the way in.
More room under the edge
The drawing for this one puts the canopy edge at 7.5 feet with the pole at 9 feet. Most adults walk under without thinking, and the seven tilt positions let you bring it lower only when the sun calls for it.

Tilted to its lowest
This is the canopy at full tilt, the setting for sun that is sitting just above the fence. The manufacturer's caption says the cross base is included and the weight base is not. Plan the weights before you plan the party.
Standing room at the table
At its level setting the canopy edge is 7.5 feet up, so people stand, sit and pass behind chairs without meeting it. The square covers the table end to end, and the post stays out of the seating.

Tilt only when you need it
The seven ghosted canopies show how far the tilt can take it. Leave it level for headroom at midday, then step it down with the crank handle as the sun drops.
Build details, up close
The callouts show the offset joint, the vent at the crown, the screwed canopy fixing, eight steel ribs and the cross base. The vent lets gusts escape upward instead of lifting the canopy.

What you get
Aluminum pole, steel ribs
A thick powder-coated aluminum pole carries eight steel ribs, so the frame resists rust and the canopy keeps its shape.
360 degrees on a pedal
Step on the pedal at the base and turn the pole. The canopy swings right round while the base stays put.
Seven tilt positions
The arm steps down the post through seven vertical positions, so the canopy can drop into low sun.
Crank lift
The same handle that sets the tilt winds the canopy open and shut, at chest height.
240 gsm yarn-dyed fabric
The colour is in the yarn rather than printed on, which is why the manufacturer calls it fade resistant.
Screwed-on canopy
The fabric is fixed to the frame with screws, so it cannot creep off the rib tips in a gust.
Vented top
A vent at the crown lets air escape upward instead of pushing on the whole canopy.
Cross base in the box
The cross base ships with it. The weights that sit on it are a separate purchase.

Who is this perfect for?
Rectangular dining sets
Square corners reach the end chairs that a round canopy of the same width leaves in the sun, and nothing rises through the middle of the table top.
Pool decks
It stands on its own cross base, so the shade can go over loungers where no table exists to hold a pole. Keep the post back from the water and on level ground.
West facing patios
Seven tilt steps plus a full circle of rotation are what you need when the worst sun of the day arrives at six, low and straight into your eyes.

Frequently asked questions
How much headroom is there?
The canopy edge sits 7.5 feet off the ground and the top of the pole 9 feet, both from the manufacturer's dimension drawing. That is enough for most adults to walk under the edge. Tilting it lowers one side, so tilt only when the sun is low.
What does a 10 by 10 foot canopy cover?
A hundred square feet with square corners: a six to eight seat rectangular table, or two loungers side by side.
Does it come with a weighted base?
No. The cross base is included and the weights that sit on it are not. No base weight is published for this model, so we are not going to invent one. A cantilever hangs its whole canopy off one side of the post, so load it more heavily than you would a centre-pole umbrella of the same width and close it when the wind picks up.
How should it be stored over winter?
Crank it closed, wrap the hook and loop strap round the canopy, let the fabric dry right through and store it dry. Canadian care guides agree the two things that finish an umbrella early are snow load on an open canopy and fabric folded away damp.
